Roots are for trees, but also for humans: to feel connected to the territory where they live, to feel grounded. My roots have been always exposed to the air, as my life has been linked to many places. Trying to find a sense of belonging but always having some other place to miss in Spain, but also in Venezuela. At some point I realized that my strategy to feel grounded is cinema. By making films I create a place (that only exists in the frames of a filmstrip, or in a hard
drive) where I belong, my only home.
